The Two-Year Commitment

Wakakusa English Program applicants are required to make a two-year commitment as a requisite for accepting the position, as is stipulated in the employment contract. However, after the first year, there will be a period of evaluation to asses the employee’s performance, during which time a decision will be made as to continuance of employment. At that time, if the applicant is deemed by Wakakusa as unable to continue in the position and/or demonstrates that he or she is clearly ill-suited for the position, a mutual decision by Wakakusa and the employee to terminate employment may be made. However, it should be noted that this policy is intended for use in “emergency” situations only, due to the hardship that it causes the organization.

Employees that successfully go on to a second year will earn a pay raise starting on the first payday of their second year with the organization.
